# Anchor Text

In plain words

Anchor text is the visible, clickable text of a hyperlink. Search engines use it as a signal for what the destination page is about, so descriptive, keyword-relevant anchor text (rather than generic 'click here') strengthens both internal linking structure and backlink value.

Example

“Read our guide to Core Web Vitals” tells search engines and readers what the linked page covers. “Click here” tells them nothing.

    ## What Factors Impact My Website's Search Rankings?

The biggest factors are content relevance, page speed, mobile usability, backlink quality, and technical SEO — like clean site structure and proper metadata. Google now also weighs experience and trust signals (E-E-A-T) — real expertise behind the content, not just keyword-stuffed pages. A technically solid site with genuinely useful content will consistently outrank a flashier site with thin, generic pages.
