# Semantic HTML

In plain words

The correct use of HTML tags according to their meaning — H1 for the main title, H2 for sections, and so on. Search engines read these tags to understand your content's structure. A site without semantic HTML makes ranking significantly harder.

Example

Using <nav>, <main>, <article> and <button> instead of plain <div>s helps screen readers, search engines and AI crawlers understand the page.
